Telling Your Kids To Make Healthier Choices Does Not Work

young girl refusing to eat at dinner table with parents

If you tell have been telling your child to eat more vegetables and it did not work, it won’t make a difference if the dietitian says the same thing. Parents want me to “remind” their kids to eat healthy. There is a 90% chance of that falling on deaf ears.

Parents - you are a very important role model. Don’t tell them what to eat... show them!

  • Eat a variety of foods that you want your kids to eat (Side note: You cannot expect them to eat a whole bunch of fruits and vegetables if you are on a strict keto diet).

  • Get kids to help out in the kitchen (without expecting them to eat the food after).

  • Lots of neutral exposure (keep offering without pressure, even when your child shows little interest).⠀⠀⠀⠀
